Who are your biggest influencers and mentors personally & professionally and explain why? My personal and professional go hand in hand. There are two mentors who I owe the world to as they've molded me into the man that I've become in the field that I’m in today. First, Erika Ward one of Atlanta's premier Interior Designers and next Annette Joseph an award-winning author and Interior Photo-stylist. Early in my career I learned so much with hands on experience from both. They taught me so much about the business of Interiors and crafting homes in a manner that is not only beautiful but also functional.

3 things that we should know about you? Three things that you should know about me is that I am a serial worker, I work all the time because I love what I do. I also love music so if you want to get into things that are a bit more personal I am an avid car concert performer, any given day you'll catch me on any major highway in full song! Last, I have a standard poodle that I absolutely adore he's been featured in Atlanta Magazine and is always photo ready you can find him on social media under the hashtag #SirAlon.

What fuels your drive? My clients fuel my drive, they count on me to enhance their lives and that pushes me so very hard to create spaces that they're not only comfortable in but also very proud of.

Books you've enjoyed and what's the takeaway from that book? One book that I’ve enjoyed reading is Unfu*k yourself (Sorry for the language) but it helps you unlock the fierceness that you have inside of you and I think we all have that person inside of us so it's extremely important to recognize and receive that being inside of us.

What's been your most successful approach in building business relationships? It's been quite simple for me; my approach has simply been being myself. Apparently I'm well received by people and I use my personable approach in business because what I do is so personal I think people appreciate that I treat their homes as my own every detail is considered from my clients interests to their daily routine so when their designed homes are revealed to them, they feel as if it's something that they created instead of hiring someone to create it for them.

What are the lessons you've gained that profoundly shifted your direction in business? The lessons that I’ve learned that have shifted my direction in business is to focus on myself. Over the years, I've overextended myself greatly and although I love my clients, my business would not progress if I overextend myself. So, making sure that the client is happy is my ultimate goal but not at the cost of my own personal happiness.

What type of digital magazine or periodicals do you enjoy? I love Architectural Digest, they keep me abreast to what's going on in the field of decor and architectural.
