Name a person who’s had a tremendous impact on you as an entrepreneur, business professional or business owner. How and why did this person impacted your life? I have to name 2 mentors who have helped me grow personally and in business. The first would be my father who was an entrepreneur his whole life; a true mover and shaker. My second mentor would be my business partner, Renee Smith. Renee is a born leader, and a very talented manager of both people and business. People LOVE working with and for Renee. She is a patient listener, an excellent educator and the best diplomat that I know personally. Our Slim Studio business would not have happened without her. She believed in the idea and trusted our vision so here we are today!
3 things that we should know about you? I have a wonderful marriage of 18 years to Lamar Spence, love to have fun and socialize, and have deep commitment to family and friends. My work ethic has always helped me be passionate and energetic about what I do.

If I were to talk to one of your closest business colleagues what would they say about you? It is so awkward to answer this question about myself, so these are the words of my closest business colleague… “Robbie is the most determined, driven and devoted woman I know. She has an exquisite sense of sophistication and radiates excitement and energy in everything she does.”
What one characteristic that you believe every leader should have? Being open-minded to new ideas that are not your own is one of the building blocks of leadership. Using a position of power to raise others will always result in rewards to all. You will always be more successful by promoting the best in others.
What are the lessons you've gained that have profoundly shifted your direction in business? I have found that it is important to manage my reaction to change. I have experienced several very positive but unexpected and significant changes in my career. (Unexpected recruitments, corporate takeovers, and launching a business). My lesson learned is that Change can be very stressful but will ALWAYS represent opportunity.
What are the few resources you would recommend to someone looking to gain insight into becoming a better leader? Ask your parents what to do!
What type of products or service do you offer? We perform “Coolsculpting only” at Slim Studio? CoolSculpting is the world’s first and only fat reduction procedure that employs cold to eliminate unwanted fat cells, resulting in the reduction of the fat layer. The areas that we treat include the chin, arms, abdomen, flanks, thighs and back. Coolsculpting is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that lowers the temperature of the anatomy to the point that fat cells are injured, and ultimately fat cell death occurs. The result is a permanent reduction of the fat layer. The procedure is safe and effective and there is no recovery time. You can return to your daily activities immediately following the treatment. It is a fantastic way to Slim Down!
What is unique about your business? At the inception of our business, we made a specific decision to be the experts in the Coolsculpting procedure by offering only one service and being the best in Atlanta at it. We operate under the supervision of Dr. Alan Larsen, in a beautiful, private and comfortable facility, with medical staff who all have advanced training and are experts in Coolsculpting.
The Swan Coach House, located in Buckhead on the grounds of the Atlanta History Center, offers the complete Atlanta experience. This historical building houses an art gallery, a restaurant, a gift shop, and spaces for any event.
To what do you attribute your success? We have built a culture at Slim Studio of being welcoming, approachable and completely available to educate clients about all aspects of the Coolsculpting procedure. Our approach is to give the most honest advice we can to prospective patients. Not everyone is a candidate for Coolsculpting, and we pride ourselves on offering an honest assessment and recommendation that is in the patient’s best interest. We are careful with patient selection as we want happy patients who achieve great results. The support and guidance from my business partners, Renee Smith and our amazing Medical Director, Dr. Alan Larsen, the best plastic surgeon in Atlanta have had a huge impact on our success.
Ivy Lane is a gift and clothing boutique homegrown in Marietta, GA. We were founded by Julie Turner, a long-time Cobb county resident, Georgia Tech engineer, wife and mom of three, six years ago. We love being a shopping hub in Cobb county, and love giving back to this same community even more. Our East Cobb boutique is located in Marietta’s Highland Plaza Shopping Center at 3605 Sandy Plains Road near Publix and Bath & Body Works.
