What type of company do you run? I am building myself, Armelia Cartier, as an actress, poet, and human rights activist.
What fuels you and the wisdom that you've gained through the years? My grandmother, Mrs. Katie Murrell, has always told me that keeping my eyes STAYED on Jesus and family will ensure other "prizes" will remain in my reach.
What challenges did you face and what motivated you to solve them? As a little girl with a former speech impediment and no self-confidence, I didn't know I had worth or value as a WOMAN, only as a "worker bee" so I couldn't effectively communicate my value and worth, as a woman, to others. Looking very intently at the women in my family, social circle, and women who came before me motivated me to evaluate and assess my role, talents, and contributions overall. Once I did that the light came on and NEVER went off!
Define Beyond Beauty? Means to have no "beauty" guidelines whether it be societal, community, or self-imposed. It is not some grandiose gesture of splendor r physical magnificence. It is where your truth, vulnerability, authenticity, and everything uninhibited lies. Beyond Society....Beyond Community....Beyond Self IS BEYOND BEAUTY.
What projects are you currently working on? xpanding on my role as an actress, auditioning, and working on the release of my first book titled "I Didn't Do Music. Music Did Me"
What is favorite quote? If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a nation.
Three things that we should know about you? 1). I used to read the dictionary for fun 2). I love all things hip-hop 3). I never accept no from someone who does not have the power to say yes.
